I have been indexing since 1964
and to date have compiled more than
800 published indexes to books and journals.
I won the Wheatley Medal in 2005 for my index to
Seven Pillars of Wisdom: The complete 1922 "Oxford" text,
and again in 2006 for indexing
W. B. Yeats: Mythologies edited by Warwick Gould and Deirdre Toomey;
Palgrave Macmillan.
I have written a textbook on indexing:
Indexing biographies and other stories of human lives
(3rd edition, Society of Indexers 2004).
I specialize in indexing biographies, works on English literature
and on publishing; theatre; film; film studies; child development.
I index journals (learned & professional); newsletters;
anthologies & collected works; diaries & letters.
